Our Objectives

  • Strategic Support of Nonprofits

    The Advancement Foundation, a 501(c)3 organization, provides two primary functions to advance the lives of underprivileged citizens in the Roanoke Valley. First, the Foundation provides strategic planning, fundraising and board development for valuable health and human service organizations so that they are able to continue their critical work in the Valley. The Foundation does this by working with directors and board members to focus on building capacity and encouraging partnerships across organizations.

  • Plus Action Oriented Programming for Nonprofits and Individuals

    The Foundation also works to provide long lasting social change for citizens by providing programming that allows citizen experiencing chronic poverty to create and execute a comprehensive life plan. We partner with East Mental Health to help build sustainable change in the lives of our LEAP program participants.

  • Equals a unique approach to develop nonprofit sustainability and break the cycle of poverty

    The Advancement Foundation works to lead community wide social change by improving the lives of the underprivileged. The Foundation accomplishes this work by: first, helping create sustainability for local health and human service nonprofits; and, secondly through the LEAP Program, which assists the underprivileged in developing and executing a life improvement plan. We do this through individual service, non-profit and and for-profit partnerships.

  • Building Capacity Nonprofit Sustainability

    We have assisted numerous nonprofits with fund development, strategic planning and capacity building since our inception in 2007.

  • Workshops Workshops

    This program allows busy nonprofit directors to participate and implement a program at a reasonable pace while directing their organizations.

  • The Playbook Playbook

    The PlayBook highlights twelve critical elements for capacity building and provides step-by-step guidance for implementing change across the organization.

  • Leap Program Women by lake LEAP Program

    The LEAP Program, which stands for Lift, Educate, Advocate, and Proclaim, is a direct services program dedicated to improving the quality of life of underpriviledged women living in the Roanoke Valley
